IND vs AUS 5th Test Day 1, Live score and updates: Shubman Gill (20) fell at the stroke of Lunch on Day 1 of the fifth Test between India and Australia in Sydney. Jasprit Bumrah replaced Rohit Sharma as India captain, Bumrah won the toss and opted to bat first. India have made two changes from their defeat in Melbourne. Shubman Gill comes in to replace captain Rohit Sharma, while Prasidh Krishna gets a look in in place of injured Akash Deep. “Obviously our captain has shown great leadership, he has opted to rest today,” Bumrah said at the toss.
Meanwhile, Australia have made one change. Beau Webster makes his debut and replaces Mitchell Marsh. “We would have batted first as well but overcast conditions, so hoping to get something going,” Australia captain Pat Cummins said.
